Programs
John Street has four rooms. Each room is named after a bird in the Woi Wurrung language. Woi Wurrung is the language of the Wurrunjerri people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which John Street sits. The age group are not fixed to a specific room and may change rooms each year. In 2026 our programs are as follows;
The Muk Muk Room - 1 to 2 year-old program (4 months to 2 years)
Muk Muk is the Woi Wurrung word for Owl.
The Waa Room, 2 to year-old program. (2 to 3 years)
Waa is the Woi Wurrung word for Crow.
The Barrawarn Room, 3-year-old Kinder (3 to 4 years)
Barrawarn is the Woi Wurrung word for Magpie.
The Bunjil Room, 4-year-old Kinder, Pre-Prep (4 to 5 years)
Bunjil is the Woi Wurrung word for Eagle.
