Culture is fundamental to a child’s identity, wellbeing and sense of belonging. To support the identity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and to deepen understandings and knowledge held by non-Indigenous children, we are committed to honouring and celebrating the rich cultures and histories of Australia's First Nation Peoples. Our educators are committed to learning alongside the children with a focus on The Wurundjeri People who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we play, learn and grow.
John Street CECC acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. We recognise their continuing connection to the Country, water, and the community around us. We pay our respects to the Elders past and present and emerging.
